More Hokie Art

Two more Hokie Colleges - using ticket stubs, bits and pieces of anything maroon and orange. Canvas was base painted with splotches of gold, orange and maroon. The pieces of napkins, photos, scrapes of paper and fabric were glues on with gel medium. They were originally made for my son's apartment at Virginia Tech but since he claims it is fully decorated we kept them for our Hokie basement!!

Angel Beeswax Collage

Wednesday our Altered Art group played with beeswax! What fun! I made this 5X7 canvas with some Cavallina paper in the background. Angel is from the web and dove from a catalog. Whispering Hope was from a sharing friends hymnal! Paper Flower and brad and button too for dimension - wax held these with no problem!

My Latest - HOKIE ART

This is my latest Hokie Art series. I have done 3 but need to finish up the last two. I first painted the canvas with patches of color hokie style and then added napkins, scraps, ticket stubs and other orange and maroon embellishment. I then used distress ink to darken the true whites. Finally, I used rubber stamps with grids, numbers, and manila folder closure patterns to add depth and texture. I will post the next two soon! Happy Easter!!

Merry Christmas!!

I made this last year for a Christmas swap with our marriage group! Forgot to take a picture of it so after a party at the home of the recipient I have a picture! 4x4 canvas painted with black gesso and layers with fibrous papers stamped with music, an embossed yellow star and the scroll pattern at the bottom. Mary and baby Jesus were purchased from Lisa Vollrath and I added gold ink to the halo on each!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!!

Halloween Fun

Happy Halloween!! These are two shadow boxes I made at my Wednesday Altered Art Group at Angela's Happy Stamper! I used some old toys found when cleaning out my husbands basement. Rub-ons were used on the glass to give added depth! FUN FUN!!

Button Fairy

I framed and added rub-on words to a button fairy made earlier this year! This is some cool back ground paper that I found at Mish-Mish the art store in Blacksburg, Va for Virginia Tech. I love it with the button fairy.

Say Hello to Jelly Jane!!

She is made of a single Jelly mold wired to an old spool and then a bead and shank button below and behind the head. Her legs are wired on and are two of those test tube things for individual flowers to water them. I filled them with chenille yarn. This was a fun project at my Wednesday Angela's Altered Artist group!
